Software for Belgian driving schools
How to choose driving school software in Belgium
Driving school software is the system a school uses to run its planning, student files, exams, payments and statutory documents. In Belgium it also has to cope with the rules of your region, the RS009 registration card and the Belgian exam centres. This page sets out the minimum it should do and how to compare packages.
What is driving school software?
In a driving school the diaries of instructors, cars and classrooms overlap, while students move lessons and every exam has its own conditions. Driving school software, also called a driving school management system, keeps all of that in one place.
What sets it apart from a diary and a spreadsheet is that the data is connected. One lesson counts towards the student's remaining hours, the registration card, the trip sheet and the instructor's hours worked. With separate lists, someone in the office types it all in again.
Why Belgium differs from the Netherlands
Flanders and the Netherlands share a language, but a driving school works in a different system in each. In the Netherlands the CBR conducts the driving exams and the same rules apply nationwide. In Belgium a driving school comes under the region where it is established, and training differs from one region to the next.
For a category B licence, a candidate in Flanders normally practises for at least 5 months. Brussels has routes with 14, 20 or 30 driving school hours, among others, each with its own practice requirements. In Wallonia, anyone who wants to drive alone after 20 hours at a driving school must first pass a test at the exam centre, the TCTC. Exams are tied to the region too: to take the practical exam in Brussels you must have passed the theory exam in the Brussels region, and Flanders follows the same logic from 1 January 2027. Anyone taking the practical exam in Wallonia has had to complete the whole route there since 1 January 2026.
Your day-to-day administration is Belgian as well:
- The registration card following the RS009 model, the yellow card with the candidate's lessons.
- Exam centres run by several organisations, such as Autoveiligheid, SBAT and KM in Flanders.
- Code 95 if you train professional drivers: 35 hours of periodic training every five years at an approved training centre.
- Identity through the eID, itsme® and, where you are legally authorised to use it, the national register number.
- Accounting software for the Belgian market such as WinBooks, Billit or Adsolut and, for VAT-registered schools invoicing other VAT-registered businesses, the compulsory e-invoice via Peppol since 1 January 2026.
- Dutch and French side by side, especially in Brussels and along the language border.
What driving school software must do at a minimum
Use this list as a starting point for a demo. Whatever is missing, you will go on doing by hand.
- Planning per instructor, car and classroom that blocks double bookings.
- One file per student with lessons, remaining hours, exams, documents and payments.
- Lesson report and signature on the instructor's smartphone.
- Registration card, certificates and trip sheets that fill themselves in from the lessons given.
- Exam booking at Belgian exam centres, with a check of the conditions.
- Online enrolment and lesson booking, also when the office is closed.
- Payment online and in the car, with a view of what is still outstanding.
- A link with your accounting software, or at least an import file for your accountant.
- Roles and access rights, because your files hold identity data and medical certificates.
What to look at when choosing
Feature lists soon look alike. These five questions tell you more.
Where is your data?
Ask where your files are hosted, who has access and which sub-processors the supplier works with.
Can you get everything out again?
Ask in what format you can export your data and documents, whether that always works and what it costs. Have it shown during the demo.
How does the switch work?
Live files are the most sensitive point: remaining hours, open payments, booked exams. Ask what comes across and who does the import. Our approach is explained under Switch to BIQSDRIVE.
What will you really pay?
Work with your own number of instructors, new files and payments, and look at the contract length. Our prices and a calculator are on the Pricing page.
Who helps you when you get stuck?
Ask through which channel and how fast you get an answer, and how quickly a new rule from your region reaches the software.

FAQ
Questions about driving school software
What does driving school software cost?
That depends on what you count: licence, usage, transaction costs and help getting started. With BIQSDRIVE a driving school pays one price per active instructor per month, with all modules included, plus what it uses. Work out your own monthly cost on the Pricing page.
Is driving school software different for Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels?
The basics are the same, but training hours, practice periods, forms and exam centres differ from region to region. In BIQSDRIVE each company therefore gets its own localisation pack.
Can I switch from my current system?
Yes, with the free import wizards and free guidance, also from other software. See Switch to BIQSDRIVE.
When can I start with BIQSDRIVE 27?
The software starts in January 2027. Until then you can join the waiting list or request an online demo.
